First Grade - Mrs. Nola Vroom
I was born on February 6, 1951 in Los Angeles, California
to Harry and Pat Duvall. I am the oldest of their five
children. I have three sisters and one brother.
I attended four different public schools in Baldwin Park,
Anaheim, and Spring Valley, California for elementary
school. I attended Ball Junior High School and Anaheim
High School.
During this time, I was blessed to be a part of Prince
of Peace Lutheran Church before the school existed. My
father was the chairman of the Board of Education when
the school developed from a dream to reality. I've had
the privilege of watching it grow into what it is today.
I attended St. Paul's College in Concordia, Missouri,
where I received an A.A. Degree. I transferred to Concordia
Teacher's College in Seward, Nebraska where I received
my Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. I have credentials
in the state of Missouri and Illinois. |

My first teaching position was in Kewanee, Illinois
where I taught Kindergarten and First Grade though Sixth
Grade Language Arts. I moved on to St. Louis, Missouri
and had the privilege of teaching at an inner city school.
I taught a Second, Third, Fourth Grade combination class,
Seventh and Eighth Grade girl's P.E., and directed the
musicals. In 1975, I returned to California to Prince
of Peace as a substitute in Preschool through Eighth Grade.
In the fall of 1976, I received a "Call" to
be the full-time First Grade teacher where I am currently
serving. |
